Why do some tv show credits do this?

Shows like Veronica Mars and Charmed show the opening credits and on the last person's name they put for example Holly Marie Combs as Piper. They don't say who the other characters are just the last one. On Veronica Mars it says Enrico Colantoni as Keith Mars. Why???
