Should I date someone if they are under my intelligence level?

I dated a guy for four years that started when we were in high school. We've been apart for four years now but he recently got sick and I felt feelings i had for him rush back. I've always loved him so much and still do. Now i'm not a genius, however, he is not very intelligent. He always uses words out of context and just sounds like an idiot when he speaks. Also you can't believe the things he says or tells you because he always misunderstands them or exaggerates. Sometimes he has the most absurd things to say that make absolutely no sense and he ends up being wrong. You can't believe anything he says because 70% of the time he is wrong and just pretends he knows what he is talking about even if he knows he doesn't. He will just go on and on making up stuff along the way. I love him so much but this drives me crazy. I am unable to relate to him on certain levels because his intellect is below mine. I thought it was his young age but after 4 years he is the same. I know no one is perfect, and i love him, but should i deal with this or look for someone else?
